INTRO:

We examined avoiding the negative emotional impact of social media.

We touched on the following:

  1. Becoming aware that social can detract from our lives
  2. Avoiding bias and blindness from pulling you down
  3. Fighting for a positive lens to flourish

We considered a number of social media studies that reveal the physiological, psychological and emotional impact of social media, and how there is a negative correlation between social media and emotional wellbeing. We also looked at the impact of social media on identity amongst adolescents, and presented tips for moving away from habitual social media use during lockdown.
