INTRO:

We examined breaking free from the downward spiral many of us may be experiencing during the lockdown.

We touched on the following:

  1. That we have control over 40% of the happiness we experience in our lives
  2. Starting the day positively means we can change our bias for negativity
  3. Simple techniques, like ‘isn’t it wonderful that…’ prime us towards the positive
  4. It’s intentional techniques used regularly that help us build an upward spiral and give us control over our happiness

We explored the Broaden and Build Theory of positive emotion and how when we are able to savour positive emotions it leads to expansion of our thoughts and action, broadens our access to resources, and advances our personal growth.
