INTRO:

We examined dealing with the internal voices of disaster, fear and anxiety.

We touched on the following:

  1. How the mind creates thought patterns and internal narratives
  2. Shifting problematic thoughts
  3. Techniques to change the internal narrative

We considered the quote by Epictetus “people are disturbed not by events that happen to them, but by their view of these events” by looking at ways to diagnose emotional addiction, how irrational beliefs have a major impact on our experience of the world, and some very practical tips on disputing irrational beliefs when you catch yourself in the grip of negativity.
