INTRO:
We examined laughter as the best medicine.
We touched on the following:
- An overview of humour
- Research in Laughter Therapy
- A chat with Schalk Bezuidenhout
We considered the impact of laughter and humour as a way to cope with anxiety, fear and uncertainty. We explored Gelotology (the study of the effects of laughter) and the physiological effects on the body of laughter. We highlighted that just the anticipation of laughter results in a 39% decrease in stress, and Schalk Bezuidenhout chatted to us about how he sees comedy adding to people’s lives.
