INTRO:

We explored a relevant topic during the lockdown: “mom-guilt” and guilt in general – how we cope with it.

We touched on the following:

  1. What mom-guilt looks like
  2. Coping mechanisms we can try
  3. Tips on how to deal with feelings of guilt

We talked about how important it is to be present with what you are feeling and not to extend judgement, that it’s natural to feel emotions like guilt during lockdown, and that the constant juggling of roles is common. Lockdown has forced us to sit with uncomfortable feelings, but that it’s natural to feel what you’re feeling. Caitlyn talked us through having a ‘tree’ of coping mechanisms with many branches, offering us different options for different moments. Key to everything is to know yourself; to have self-compassion.
