We explored how we deal with change and what we will experience during reintegration.

We touched on the following:

  1. Why change is tough
  2. The challenges we’ll face reintegrating into society and work
  3. How to reignite as we reintegrate

We examined the idea of a global sense of personal adequacy, and how when there is major change this sense of personal adequacy is threatened, we feel stressed and we thus perform at a lower level than is usual for us. We looked at a few simple, key things we can do to maintain a sense of adequacy, known as self-affirmation techniques. We highlighted neuroplasticity and how we are going to have to ‘re-habituate’ ourselves to go back to what we knew before the lockdown. We examined the complicated set of dynamics we face returning to work and the possible clash of contradicting needs between individuals and organisations.
